Ingrown Nails in Bensonhurst

Ingrown Toenail Surgery

What is an ingrown toenail?

An ingrown toenail is a common condition which causes discomfort, pain and possibly infection. Your toe nail becomes ingrown when the edge of the nail cuts into the skin.  Most often this occurs on the big toe. It is common in teenagers and adults. Many people think that an ingrown toenail must be painful or infected to be called an ingrown toenail but this is not true.  Most ingrown toenails are ingrown or curved well before there is pain or infection.

Symptoms: Pain, discomfort, bleeding, drainage, redness, swelling and curving of the nail into the skin are most common.

Treatment: Treatments include trimming to get rid of the infection and acids or a laser to permanently correct the ingrown nail. As each case is unique; I look forward to discuss your treatments options with you.
